  • A LOT has happened since I last updated my lil Sunday Roundup feature. Because nothing really happened two weeks ago I didn't feel right posting anything, But since then a few things have happened :)
  • Spent May Day at Portsmouth Common, chilling in the sun with all the buds sipping on Tesco's Jeeves and Lemonade (HEY BIG SPENDER haha)
  • Recently got into "SnapChat". Like REALLY into it haha. This is how me and my friends tend to communicate now.
  • Mother's Day was in NZ last Sunday, I always find it a bit odd celebrating Mum's & Dad's Day different to the U.K. but it just doesn't feel right celebrating them on any other day.
  • Treated myself to a few goodies, one being a new iPhone case with a kickass sloth as an astronaut. I LOVE sloths, they're soo cute! Infact me and my bestie are adopting each other sloth's for our birthdays :D I also got my macbook pro a decal of Snow White. I know everyone pretty much has one nowadays but I just love the design.
  • Went to the union last Monday to support my football team (or mainly my boyfriend's football team as i'm a rugby girl at heart) Crystal Palace against their game with Brighton which would determine who got to the Play-Off Finals at Wembley. I'm pleased to say Palace WON!! So me and the Boyf's family are heading to Wembley on Bank Holiday Monday to root on the Eagles against Watford! GOOOOO YOU EAGLES!
  • My student radio station won this competition that Spotify and Jose Cuervo put together, so our Student Union Bar aka my place of work got to host it. I'd like to say I remember the night but some of it is a tad blurry.. The next day I had to catch a coach back to London and was mentally restraining myself from throwing up everywhere haha CLASS ACT!
  • On Saturday I finally got to see McFly in concert. I'd waited 8 years for that day and it couldn't have been better. I used to LOVE them when I was in high school and right up until a couple of years ago when my love died down. The concert since then has re-ignited my love for them, got a tad emotional during 2 of their songs :')

MEMORY LANE

Jacket- Missguided
Hoodie- Topshop
Shirt- Primark
Jeans- Forver 21
Sneakers- Schuh
Bag- H&M

On Friday I went up to have a flying visit to London as me and some friends had tickets to see McFly on the Saturday.
Now this was my first time seeing what were my favourite band in my young adult years, in fact I had waited almost 8/9 years for this opportunity. Every time the boys went to Australia I had just returned from a trip or were arriving a few days after they had been.
I decided to keep it casual as I was expecting to have a bit of a boogie and didn't want to stand out like a sore thumb. I picked up this Blue and White spotted crop blouse from Primark a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! I can see this being a BIG staple item in my summer wardrobe this year. It's so soft and light and can be dressed up or down. I teamed it with some Black skinny leg jeans with a zip detail down the bottom, mainly as I wasn't too sure how the weather would pan out after the show and didn't want to be cold on the journey home. Teamed with my Vintage High Top Nike Blazers in Baby Blue I think it topped the outfit perfectly, creating that easy going yet stylish gig look. I wore my recently purchased Missguided camo/sequined jacket which i've been wearing with my Grey Topshop hoodie for an extra added warmth from the chilly winds.

I had an absolute blast at the gig! Bought up all my love for those 4 boys, even got a tad teary eyed during their beautiful acoustic version of their song "I'll Be Ok" which is coincidently the first song I ever heard from them and helped me through a real down and horrible time in my life, and again during "Memory Lane" as the words really resonated in me at how much i've truly changed since moving over to London from Auckland.
They're doing a 10th Anniversary show at the Royal Albert Hall which i'm quite keen at perhaps going to but I need to find someone to go with...

4. SUNDAY ROUNDUP

Radio DJ Soph back in action!// Twister//
Ironman 3// May the 4th be with you
  • Not a lot has really happened this week. Mainly recovering from Carnage haha. But I did do my first radio show of the term. I personally felt it could have been better, but as it's the first of the term I'll cut me some slack haha. If you want to check out my show head over to my Mixcloud
  • Went and saw Ironman 3 with my future flatmates (plus Luke). I won't say to much because I HATE when people spoil things for me. BUT OMG! IRONMAN! OMG! I really really enjoyed it and totally worth my Orange Wednesday money haha. Next movie I'm looking forward to is Star Trek: Into Darkness. Decided that the boyf will treat me to this when I next see him at the end of the month for our "date night". Mmmmm Benedict Cumberbatch you sexy man! (you too Chris Pine)
  • Had my first ice lolly of the summer season! Decided on a twister for this special occasion haha, they are just too good!
  • It's starting to quieten down at work which is good news, the sun always makes me feel super lazy and just wanting to spend all my time in it's lovely presence.. although Friday still saw some questionable singing talents at our karaoke night. For some reason people think that by eating the microphone it will make them sound like Beyonce haha. Also saw for the first time a group of girls giving up on a song half way through.. they do know that the point of karaoke is to sing the song... till the end?
  • BIG EVENT this week was of course MAY THE FOURTH! A day dedicated to the Star Wars nerd in me <3 me and some friends headed down to The Waterhole (aka my place of work) as they were playing the whole 6 movies. Although they did play the prequels first which in my opinion is the wrong way to watch them, to further prove my point Episode III: Revenge of the Sith totally will blow the big plot twist in Episode V: Empire Strikes Back! I thought the event would have been more popular then it was, I mean who DOESN'T love Star Wars? Haha it really was only me and my friend Aaron watching the films. We gave up 15mins into Empire Strikes Back as some twig bitches (excuse my language) stated the sound for Star Wars wasn't acceptable as they wanted to listen to the jukebox *insert rolling eyes*
Anyway enough of my bad language haha that's really been my week. Pretty quite and I can see this week coming could be the same haha got to do some coursework for my exam (BORING!), although tomorrow is Bank Holiday so me and a few of my friends are heading to the Southsea Common in Portsmouth to soak up the (hopeful) beautiful sun!

WANDERLUST WEDNESDAY

DESTINATION: Auckland, New Zealand

Well it's another Wednesday and another destination! Which is of course my lovely hometown of Auckland City!

Auckland City at Sunset

There is literally so much you can do in Auckland (but I could be biased) so I'm going to do my best and list all the fan favourites and personal favourites...
Here we go:

  • Go on a whale and dolphin safari. This tour gives a 75% success rate for seeing Whales and 90% success rate for dolphins. Something slightly different and way cool!
  • Head on over to Sky City which is located in the very heart of Auckland City. Go up the Sky Tower and to the observatory deck and see the wonderful views of Auckland and see Rangitoto Island. The elevator is completely see through along with some of the panels of the floors on the Observatory Deck. Pop in and have a bit to eat in the revolving restaurant as well.
  •  If you're feeling brave why not do the SkyWalk, where they take you out on the rim giving you a true 360 experience. Or even you want to go even further in your daredevil adventure there is an option to do the Sky Jump, which sees you harnessed up and jumping off the Sky Tower.
  • If it's more family orientated fun you want there's always the beloved Auckland Zoo, see the tigers, lions and well last time i went there weren't any bears but there are kiwi birds, as they're noctournal and placed in an all night time enclosure it can be fun to play the game of "Where's Kiwi"
  • If you want a break from the city why not pop over to Waiheke Island and go to all the beautiful sandy beaches (NOTE: there are plenty of beautiful beaches outside Auckland as well) or check out the luxurious wineries.
  • There's also Rangitoto Island you could check out. You can have the option to either travel up in a 4WD road train or walk to the summit by foot. I sadly haven't been here but would love to on one of my visits back to the motherland. I have heard good things about this island and have been told the views are spectacular.
  • If you're up for a bit of a scare head on over to Spookers, one of my most favourite and hated places. Best Haunted attraction in my personal opinion ever! The actors are incredible and you really feel like you're life is in danger. Not to mention it is situated next to a bonafide haunted hospital.
  • Check out New Zealand's theme park Rainbows End. A real popular attraction if you have mini daredevil kids.
  • Climb the Harbour Bridge or if your brave do the AJ Hackett bungy jump!
  • Go see the wonders of the Auckland Musuem. Experience what it would be like if a volcano erupted. See New Zealand's history along with other exquiste artefacts. Not to mention it's FREE! I personally love this place, but i'm a sucker for a museum!
I really could go on and on, in fact doing this week's Wanderlust feature has just re-opened my eyes to the wondrous things Auckland has to offer. There are lots of beautiful parks to laze about in if it's summer and there is literally a beach on every corner. I haven't mentioned any beaches as there are far too many to list! Although if you do decide to visit Auckland, my advice is to go slightly out of Auckland, those beaches are truly breath-taking!
For food Burger Fuel is a must for those eat on the go meals. There a bountiful places and suburbs that cater many different and wonderful cafés and restaurant. Ponsonby is a great haunt for these requirements. Or take a walk along the Viaduct where there many bars, clubs and eateries to choose to from.

I'll leave it here otherwise this could go on for a quite awhile haha. Hopefully this has inspired you or enticed you further to book that plane ticket to my hometown.

Until next time...
