HAPPY NEW YEAR BLOG-O-SPHERE!
It's a new year and I've decided to try and keep this blog up, we'll see how long it lasts as procrastination is my middle name.

For New Years Eve I went out with my friend Krizia and her parents who were visiting from New Zealand. We went to this pub in West Hampstead called the Black Lion, with our entry fee we also got a 5-course meal. My choices were questionable but it's good to push boundaries, I tried pigeon for the first time which was interesting- tough but flavoursome.

We headed home not long after midnight as we were all quite tired and I'm not really a fan of New Years, I also recently have been getting headaches whenever I drink (i'm going to the doctors sometime next week maybe to see if they can give the low down on why this is happening). The next day was a mega blob day, Krizia and I ended up getting into a Catfish marathon- there was one ep that just had has gobsmacked, it was so crazy!

I'm back in Portsmouth now getting ready for a new term and cramming in some essay writing for 3 essays due next week haha (to be fair I have almost finished one of the essays so that counts for something right?)

Until next time...

A POST FOR RAINY DAYS

Hi-diddley-hey there!
I was just sitting here in my boyfriends room having my own little Kardashian Marathon (boy do I love this TV reality family) when I thought I should maybe update my little blog. Lately it's just been about outfits i've worn and as I much as I love doing them I want this blog to be a bit more then just 'LOOK AT WHAT I'VE THROWN TOGETHER TODAY'.
As it's raining or was raining quite heavily this morning I thought why not chuck together a rainy day post. Basically just a little nothing post on things you could do to keep you entertained while your stuck in doors, now some of the things i'll suggest are probably things people do anyway but hey who cares! This could be fun! And perhaps bring to light some things people may have forgotten they could do..

  • Build a pillow fort! Remember when you were a little kid? These were so much fun to make, a hideaway in the middle of the room. I suggest grabbing your fave book or even bringing your laptop and some DVDs into the fort with lots of snack and chilling out. You could even take it that next step further and build a fort city like they did in the TV show 'Community'!

  • Watch a film. This one is probably the most popular of the options. Infact this is my go to option on a rainy day haha. Whether it's going through your own personal DVD collection or going to your local cinema, this is an activity that is sure to keep you dry. Personally I prefer the stay at home option, you can microwave your own popcorn, pause the film when you need to pee or get a fresh drink AND you can snuggle up in bed or on the couch and never have to get out of your pyjamas haha.

  • Read a book. Another option that is quite obvious but sometimes could be overlooked. There's nothing better then snuggling down with a good book, and the rain sounds in the background. I love the sound of rain, and I feel it can be a great mood setter for getting you into that tranquil, peaceful zone you get into when reading a book.

  • Have an Indoor Picnic. This is something my my mum used to do for me and my sister in the school holidays. It's a fun twist on a much loved summer activity. Plus you don't have to travel far! We would go get our picnic materials (mum even splurging on Sparkling Grape juice so we could feel fancy and adult like), rent some videos and just have a fun mother-daughter experience. This school holiday activity could easily be transferred to a rainy day activity with your friends or special loved one.

I know the list isn't very long but there's some quality ideas there that will hopefully get you thinking on what you can do on a rainy day instead of flicking through the channels on the TV and longing for a sunny day..

Until next time...

A RAINY DAY IN COWES

I had the day off on Saturday so decided to go with my friend to what she calls her special safe place- Cowes. The day started off promising with the weather till about 3pm when it decided to pour down with rain, not ideal.
We caught the Red Jet which only took 25 minutes which was GREAT (I am partial to getting a tad seasick on the waters) When we arrived Cowes reminded me of Waiheke Island in New Zealand a bit, in the fact that it's a nice lil island community and gives you that little escape from city life you're after, although I'd say Cowes is a bit more built up them the lovely Waiheke Island. Even though the weather was shite on that day I could still tell that this place is one of those short holiday destinations you can go to and unwind if you don't have enough cash on hand to go aboard. Even if it's just for the day you still get that sense of relaxation. My friend Kelsey took me to a lovely little restaurant on East Cowes called the Lighthouse where the food was so nice. I had a duck stir-fry and she got the fish and chips (which I later wished i'd got, because it smelt so nice)

For the day trip away I was very conscious of the weather while still maintaining a bit of style. So I teamed my grey levi jeans with my H&M black shirt with pleather collar detail, which is fast becoming one of my fav things to wear haha I'm a sucker for a good shirt. As I needed a bit more protection I decided on wearing my 3D River Island bomber style jacket which I'm totally in love with. I love the feel of it, I bought it in a size 14 not expecting it to be so big on me but I love it, I also love the 3D texture feel of the design. I'll try get a close-up pic of the jacket later and hopefully you can see what i'm talking about. I picked up the jacket for £10 in the River Island sale... SCORE!

Jeans- Levi (gift from my dad)
Shoes- Vans
Shirt- H&M
Necklace- New Look
Jacket- River Island
Bag- Warehouse

Until next time...

A DATE WITH STARBUCKS AND THEIR WIFI

Jeans- Gift from my dad
Jumper- £15 River Island
Shirt- £12.99 H&M (I think)
Shoes- £28 Office (with Student Discount)

Currently sitting in the London Road Starbucks in Southampton using their Wifi so I can upload a blog post to keep you guys still interested.
Sorry for the quality of pics, I had to use my iPhone and take them myself so that's why they aren't as great as they could be.
For my trip to Starbucks I decided to keep it casual. So I teamed my new grey Levi jeans I got in Berlin (expect a MASSIVE Berlin blog entry when i'm in the comfort of my boyfriends parent's house) with my new River Island jumper that I got in the sale online for £15, it also comes in black and there's t-shirt options as well. Underneath the jumper I chose my new black shirt with a pleather detail on the collar from H&M and then to top of this ultra causal look I slid on my classic black and white vans.

I'm loving that there's a new Starbucks closer to where I'm living at the moment, makes it so much easier to catch up on my stories (aka television shows).. almost up to date with this season True Blood- thank you Starbucks Wifi.
Anyway nothing exciting is happening for me for the rest of the week. My last shift at my summer job is Monday and then hopefully it's back to London until the 6th September for me, I just hope the new playsuit I orders arrives before the weekend other wise I won't be going back to merry old Londontown till later on the week.
Hope you're all having a great week! Not long till the weekend now!!

Until next time...

ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER

Apologies to all my readers out there.. that's if I still have any!

The reason I haven't been active on the old blog is down to the fact I haven't had any internet the past 2 months. I moved in with my boyfriend over the summer till I'm able to move into my new house in Portsmouth, and seeing as he's a student as well and none of his housemates will be back till September they decided to forgo paying for internet on the months that the majority of them aren't in the house (which is fair enough).

I am however returning to the land of the interwebs very soon so expect more posts!

Until then stay golden!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY- I'M MR BRIGHTSIDE

This post is coming from the past.. As I am currently living it up at Glastonbury 2013.. Outfit of the Day pics will be taken so you can all be in know of how I do festival-ware.
On Saturday me and the fella went to Wembley to see The Killers perform (which was his xmas present from yours truly). The concert was AMAZING! Gaslight Anthem and they were really good. Brand new fan right here! However the getting back to Beckenham was HELL! (I won't bore you with the details or the moody rants that were coming out of the mouth haha)
My outfit choice changed slightly as the weather wasn't quite at the right temperature for me to prance about in a skirt and tights. So as a backup I wore my H&M cream patterned trousers and teamed it with my H&M slogan collared t-shirt. I teamed the outfit with my bowler hat that I purchased from Missguided and a pleather jacket with black cardigan and my primark studded flats.
This outfit is a tad more dressed up than what I normally choose to wear to gigs but I felt that it was a special night so put in a bit more effort and a more grown-up gig look.

Bowler Hat from Missguided
Flower Crown from Primark

This pic was mainly to highlight my makeup but this
also looks like i'm miserable when i'm probably just suffering from hay fever...

Stud detail on my collar tshirt

Primark Stud flats

T-shirt- H&M
Trousers- H&M
Bowler Hat- Missguided
Flower Crown- Primark
"Leather" Jacket- New Look
Black Cardigan- Glassons (NZ brand)
Flats- Primark

**Note I did wear some jewellery but for some reason the picture did not load. When I get back from Glasto I shall try to reload it.

REVIEW: BARRY M NAIL POLISH-

Currently typing this blog post from my friend's iPad mini, and I must say I'm smitten with it!
Anyway onto my review of these two polishes...

The other week I made my way into Southampton High Street to pick up a few things from the local Superdrug store (hair dye, dry shampoo, deodorant for the fella..) when I decided to treat myself to some new nail polishes. I headed straight to the Barry M display as I absolutely LOVE their nail polishes. I picked up this lovely aquamarine/turquoise gel nail polish along with the white glitter polish. When I was paying at the counter the lady informed me that because I had spent over £6 (I think) that I was entitled to a free limited edition colour. It was a choice between the lime green and a bright pink, I decided to be different and try the lime green because after all it was free haha.

Heading to Glastonbury tomorrow I thought that wearing the lime green polish would be the ideal colour for this festival. That night I was bored so painted the nails and I have to say the colour is still holding up beautifully with only a few chips on my left thumb. The lime green colour is that beautiful Granny Smith apple colour which gives the nails a nice little colour pop.
For the ring finger I chose to test out the new glitter nail effect polish, but felt beforehand that it could need a base so I added one layer of the lime polish and then added the white glitter polish on top. This resulted in a really nice pastel-like rainbow glitter effect.
The only downside to the Granny Smith Lime Green polish is that it does leave a faint stain on the nails which isn't great, and the white sparkle polish does chip and come away easily not to mention you need a few coats before you get that white glitter effect.
All in all if your in need of a new polish or even want to try something new I recommend the new limited edition colours and nail effects. Perfect and refreshing for summer.

Barry M polishes roughly go for between £2.99-3.99
