OUTFIT OF THE DAY- I'M MR BRIGHTSIDE

This post is coming from the past.. As I am currently living it up at Glastonbury 2013.. Outfit of the Day pics will be taken so you can all be in know of how I do festival-ware.
On Saturday me and the fella went to Wembley to see The Killers perform (which was his xmas present from yours truly). The concert was AMAZING! Gaslight Anthem and they were really good. Brand new fan right here! However the getting back to Beckenham was HELL! (I won't bore you with the details or the moody rants that were coming out of the mouth haha)
My outfit choice changed slightly as the weather wasn't quite at the right temperature for me to prance about in a skirt and tights. So as a backup I wore my H&M cream patterned trousers and teamed it with my H&M slogan collared t-shirt. I teamed the outfit with my bowler hat that I purchased from Missguided and a pleather jacket with black cardigan and my primark studded flats.
This outfit is a tad more dressed up than what I normally choose to wear to gigs but I felt that it was a special night so put in a bit more effort and a more grown-up gig look.

Bowler Hat from Missguided
Flower Crown from Primark

This pic was mainly to highlight my makeup but this
also looks like i'm miserable when i'm probably just suffering from hay fever...

Stud detail on my collar tshirt

Primark Stud flats

T-shirt- H&M
Trousers- H&M
Bowler Hat- Missguided
Flower Crown- Primark
"Leather" Jacket- New Look
Black Cardigan- Glassons (NZ brand)
Flats- Primark

**Note I did wear some jewellery but for some reason the picture did not load. When I get back from Glasto I shall try to reload it.

REVIEW: BARRY M NAIL POLISH-

Currently typing this blog post from my friend's iPad mini, and I must say I'm smitten with it!
Anyway onto my review of these two polishes...

The other week I made my way into Southampton High Street to pick up a few things from the local Superdrug store (hair dye, dry shampoo, deodorant for the fella..) when I decided to treat myself to some new nail polishes. I headed straight to the Barry M display as I absolutely LOVE their nail polishes. I picked up this lovely aquamarine/turquoise gel nail polish along with the white glitter polish. When I was paying at the counter the lady informed me that because I had spent over £6 (I think) that I was entitled to a free limited edition colour. It was a choice between the lime green and a bright pink, I decided to be different and try the lime green because after all it was free haha.

Heading to Glastonbury tomorrow I thought that wearing the lime green polish would be the ideal colour for this festival. That night I was bored so painted the nails and I have to say the colour is still holding up beautifully with only a few chips on my left thumb. The lime green colour is that beautiful Granny Smith apple colour which gives the nails a nice little colour pop.
For the ring finger I chose to test out the new glitter nail effect polish, but felt beforehand that it could need a base so I added one layer of the lime polish and then added the white glitter polish on top. This resulted in a really nice pastel-like rainbow glitter effect.
The only downside to the Granny Smith Lime Green polish is that it does leave a faint stain on the nails which isn't great, and the white sparkle polish does chip and come away easily not to mention you need a few coats before you get that white glitter effect.
All in all if your in need of a new polish or even want to try something new I recommend the new limited edition colours and nail effects. Perfect and refreshing for summer.

Barry M polishes roughly go for between £2.99-3.99

REVIEW: L'ORÉAL ELVIVE FULL RESTORE 5

L'Oréal Elvive Leave-In Conditioner
I'm not sure if you all remember over easter me briefly talking about in a roundup post how I bought this leave-in conditioner to try out. Well I realised it had been a few months for me to have a proper evaluation of the product and here it is. I'm still finding my way around writing reviews.. especially beauty reviews so I hope you can all bear with me while I find the words haha.

Now I'm not sure if you're like me and constantly are changing their hair colour. Last October I did the big plunge to bleach my hair blonde again, although this time I wasn't going to do the gradual blonde process within a month as that ladies and gentlemen is how you can undoubtedly fry your hair beyond repair! (Note to readers if you want to achieve White Hair take it nice and slow- and also be prepared for fryed hair no matter what) I then decided to go Lavender which I really wished I'd kept up but oh well..  anyway my point being that all the bleach I'd been using to get rid of roots was starting to slowly take it's toll (even though I was waiting at least 6 weeks before re-dying), so when I went out with one of my friends over easter I saw this in Superdrug (my NUS card gets 10% off #studentdiscount) and thought "hey let's try this!".

It's roughly been about 3 months since I bought this purchase and I have noticed a big difference in the quality of my hair. Before it was dry and straw like and now it's actually resembling the feel of hair. I normally use spray it on my hair after I've showered focusing particularly on the ends (as that's where all the damage is normally). I then leave my hair in a towel bun for a bit before blowdrying it dry and have soft lovely hair (or at least something that resembles hair haha).

I can't see any faults with this product apart from the fact that it doesn't detangle my crazy destroyed hair but I wasn't holding much hope for that haha. It's a light easy to use spray that does what it says on the bottle. It even says that you can use it inbetween washes sorta like a dry shampoo which I haven't tried yet but will, I find dry shampoos to just make my hair even more dirtier which kinda cancels the point in using it ya know what I mean.
So if you're looking for a great leave-in conditioner that does what it says and makes your hair feel fabulous (not to mention I love the smell) then this product is for you!

Purchased at Superdrug: £3.99

WANDERLUST WEDNESDAY

DESTINATION: Frankfurt, Germany

Credit: http://pinterest.com/pin/267401296597954064/
So every year my dad has business in Europe to attend to and every year once his meetings are over he'll come over to London and spend the weekend catching up with me. This year however he suggested shouting me a trip to Europe with him (I'm a student with no current summer job- ALTHOUGH IF ANYONE IS HIRING HOLLA ATCHA GIRL- I'm kidding- no but seriously feel free to contact me haha). He's asked me to meet him in Frankfurt on his last day of meetings and as the only flight I could get lands at 9:40am in the morning I thought HEY why not let Frankfurt be the highlight of Wanderlust Wednesday and also help me find out what I could do this city until my dad finishes his meetings.
So without further adue here is the VERY long over waited post for Wanderlust Wednesday!

  • Why not check out Frankfurt's Main Tower which is named after the Main River which runs through the city centre and is also the best way to view this wonderful city.
  • There's a hop-on-hop-off that is perfect for any tourist who wants to tailor make their own Frankfurt adventure.
  • Travel down to Sachsenhausen to dabble in some delicious cider (if your over 18+) or try their notable Apfelwein (apple wine).
  • Römerberg is normally the first stop for most travellers. Found in the old town of Frankfurt it is filled with beautiful historic buildings some of which are reconstructions of the 15th and 16th century original versions not mention it holds trade fairs and all kinds of festivities that have been going on since the 12th century.
  • If you're feeling for a bit of shopping then head on down to the German "Fifth Avenue"- Zeil which is a host of many different shops and malls. Perhaps you here you can find something nice for yourself or grab a lil gift for your friends and family back home?
  • If you travel along the southern bank of the Main you will come across Museumufer which is a cluster of many museums in wonderfully restored villas. Here's the wikipedia page that shows you all the types of museums that can be found along the embankment-  Museumsufer Museums
  • Check out the Kaiserdom which is also known as the Frankfurt Cathedral. I'm a sucker for big beautiful churches, I think the interiors inside are so beautiful and the artwork so majestic. (I studied Art History in high school so tend to get lady boners over all these old paintings in churches and museums- I've still yet to see the Louvre!)
  • There is also the Alte Oper to see if you're after a more cultural experience. The opera house was heavily damaged during WWII but since then has been re-constructed and opened up as a concert hall. Even if you're not interested in checking out the events the building itself looks beautiful and one of the attractions I'd love to see in the flesh.
Once again here's a few taster options on the city Frankfurt to get the ball rolling for your possible next wanderlust adventure. I myself am looking forward to hopefully immersing myself in this city, perhaps i may even see if there's a downloadable walking tour on the internet for me to get lost in the city too.

If there's any cities you want me to feature feel free to pop them in a comment and i'll add them to my list. OR if you yourself have visited Frankfurt comment on what you did and saw and what you recommend my lovely readers...

Until next time...

6. SUNDAY ROUNDUP

Celebratory drink for finishing first year// Got accepted into Monsters University LULZ// Adult BBQ
//Crystal Palace vs Watford// So long halls// Date night for 1 seeing Star Trek into Darkness
//First Starbucks of the summer// Healthy eating// Awesome pub that make awesome GoT and Star Wars cocktails that my boyfriend took me too.

Once again I've been slack in my lil blogging venture. Now that it's summer and I'm currently jobless I'm going to try and invest more time in this. Maybe even write up a few posts and have them published automatically? We'll see...

  • Well I've finished my first year of uni. Still waiting on 2 marks back from 2 different units, funnily enough I got my exam marks back before these marks. My exam was on the 20th May and the other marks I'm waiting on I've been waiting for over a month for.. I'm pretty confident though that I'll pass the year.
  • Before we all broke up the rest of my lil uni friendship circle decided to go out for like a last meal and catch a movie. We saw Hangover 3 and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by it. Much better then the last one.
  • Over the bank holiday weekend I spent it in London. Went to one of my good/close friend's birthday bash where I got ridiculously drunk on rosé, later met up with my boyfriend at a pub we used to frequent and asked the manager for a job (went in for an interview the next day hanging like I've never hung before and subsequently didn't get the job haha). I also found out while drinking rosé and being denied buying chicken nuggets and chips for ridiculous reasons I can become very aggressive... I think a break from the rosé or at least portion control is in order for a while haha.
  • The next day (while still hanging) I met up with some friends to have an adult BBQ, now when I saw adult I don't mean like X-Rated shit, more like all of us acting like real grownups. We had prawn kebabs, chicken kebabs, salads, Pimms, Mojitos, chips and dips and even made eton mess for dessert. YUM! There was a spontaneous photo-shoot session that was hilarious, we even attempted to create a human pyramid.
  • On the Bank Holiday Monday, my boyfriend, his best friend and I ventured to Wembley to see the mighty Eagles defeat Watford. My god that was an intense 120min, we then went out to the pub for a bit which was nice, until I was "requested" to go into the fully swamped Crystal Palace supporters pub next to the nice quite pub we were just at. Thankfully the boyf only stayed for one drink (I felt bad, but I wasn't feeling the pub and was hella tired from a weekend of non-stop drinking)
  • The rest of the week flew by as I had to work at the pub for the final days and pack up all my belongings. I moved all my stuff into storage on the Friday before my final shift of the year at the union, boy was it busy! Drinks got down to £1.50, I even got to refuse my first drunk customer! It was all very exciting! The next day was our staff party where I managed to get the nickname "Fun Mum" haha and found out I have an alter ego like Beyoncé (where do I get this stuff when I'm drunk? For anyone wondering the alter ego's name is Portia)
  • The next day I dragged my broken suitcase out of halls and said goodbye forever before hoping on a train to Southampton where I'm bunking with my boyf. for the summer.. or at least until one of us kills each other haha I joke (maybe). Took myself out on a lil date night for one, went and saw the new Star Trek and HUBBA HUBBA! It was nerd girl heaven with all those spunks up on the big screen.. and the storyline was great too! Then I went to Chiquito's to have some dinner and although I don't have any problems eating by myself, there was a big group of I guess 20y/o's who just like stared at me when I entered the restaurant.. I was thinking "Geez you never seen a date night for 1 before? Take a picture it might last longer"
  • The rest of the week saw me taking up the "Couch to 5k" running program again, going for a job interview (I should find out tomorrow if I'm employed), having my first Starbucks of the summer (in fact I think it's my first Starbucks in MONTHS), hanging in the garden with one of Rob's housemates and then going out for a very late and drunken night out on Friday. Got taken to this cool pub near where I'm living that do Game of Throne and Star Wars cocktails in pint glasses! Then we moved onto a pub i've been wanting to go to since I first heard about it- The Hobbit- where they do Lord of the Rings cocktails. Didn't get home till 4am! I remember looking at my phone when last orders were called thinking JESUS! It's 3:30am already!
Hoping to get some more content up this week with a review and the return of Wanderlust Wednesdays. Stay tuned :)

Until next time...
